A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN...
I met Soy when she commented on a post I made looking to select three couples for an offer we only promote twice a year at Bradley Cinema. From the first time that we connected, I was instantly greeted in a friendly manner by Soy. She was super involved in our services and onboarding convo. I also admired how much she valued having a wedding video! So, it wasn't long before we knew that she and James would be an amazing fit to produce a wedding film for. We couldn't wait to have them on board with us! It was just an unbelievable connection!
This epic adventure starts out with us leaving our home of Atlanta and flying all the way out to Cleveland, Ohio for their wedding. We headed directly for the airport on Saturday 9/3 to prevent any last-minute delays for their wedding on 9/4. Thankfully we had a safe, and quick 1-hour flight into town. We were so excited to travel to a new city again, and we had such a great stay via the Hampton Inn by Hilton in Akron, OH! The trip couldn't have started out any better or smoother!
On Sunday, we excitedly hit the road from Akron to Cleveland where we met Soy IN PERSON for the first time. The joy that I felt officially getting to the bride behind the 'Facebook messages' was unexplainable. She was getting ready at the Renaissance Hotel in Cleveland and it was such a luxurious and vintage-styled building. Perfect for those before shots!
If you've been following our blog for a while, then you should know by now that I am ALL about the fine details. I had such a fun time staging/styling all of Soy's precious wedding day pieces. I was simply blown away by how well all of the colors meshed with one another. It's the Terracotta for me! But seriously, I already knew they had a luxurious taste! I also worked alongside TWO amazing photographers who were the friendliest and super talented. We all worked together so cohesively, which made for a much smoother transition to each part of such a special day. Shout out to these lovely pros INCLUDING Soy's hairstylist. What's a bride on her wedding day without her tribe? OMGosh Soyeene had the sweetest crew of ladies! They were all so calm, happy, attentive, and friendly toward each other and us at work. This was absolutely a room filled with such beautiful ladies and it was so clear how happy they were for Soy on her big day.
This dress was absolutely designed for Soy. I always love to see brides wear a dress that just flows well with their personality, character, and fashion sense. Since meeting Soy, I have expected not to look for anything less than unique from her. She just really has an elegant style that shines in all of the clothing pieces she chooses. This photo honestly doesn't do justice to how well handcrafted it was put together. The up-close details will look so much better on video!
Now we're off to meet up with the groom who got ready at Mount Zion Congregational church in Cleveland, OH.
We got to the church just in time to catch James before he added the final touches to his tux. The browns went so well with the high-class greens of the wedding colors. Another sweet thing to witness was placing mics on James and the officiant - who was James' FATHER! How precious is it that his Father married him and his new bride at the altar!
And now, the moment they've waited their whole lives for - the two become one in the presence of God and witnesses! Soyeene + James have a bond like glue, and their love story proves how far they are willing to go for one another. When two are devoted to God in their hearts, he joins their souls in an unmatchable way and directs their path. It was special to listen to their vows for one another which were centered on unity because after all, that is what marriage is really about.
Moving onto the reception that followed! It was also very finely decorated in their phenomenal colors. Everyone waited so happily and patiently for the bride and groom to arrive at La Place Events in Akron, OH. I am ready to give this event space a FIVE STAR REVIEW. They had several weddings going on that night next door to each other, and the professionals were very prompt out front directing guests to their proper entrance. The staff serving food was very friendly, quick on their feet, helpful, and smiled the whole time! The place was clean, spacious, and ventilated really well.
If you follow us on Instagram, then you've probably heard me mention my obsession with wedding decor. Sometimes I think to myself, am I more excited about the photos OR the videos of the decorated reception space?! Haha! As you can see, everything came together so nicely. The guests were sincerely enjoying their food and having a great time as well as ourselves! The dessert table was the kind of simple I adore, and the wedding favors were such a sweet addition too!

Every couple that chooses us to capture their forever moments on film adds a notch to our "blessing belt." When planning a wedding, you are choosing to trust so many vendors who were once strangers and that says a lot. But, when we deliver films and some couples tell us they LOVED IT and CRIED - it makes all of the pressure, crucial editing, and hard work 1,000% worth it. We wouldn't trade the feeling or connection!!
